Wilson's J.R. Nelson has made a big move from receiver to running back for the Wildcats.

Good Morning!

Lately I’ve been accused of “soap boxing”, being “high and mighty”, or “too preachy”…

Okay, now as I’m about to call someone out and really come after this person I wonder what your opinion of me will be after…Mmm?

Note to Mr. High School Public Address Announcer: Hey! Dude! Just because someone put you behind a microphone does not mean you have been imbued with any of the three “Os”…You are not omnipotent, you are not omniscient, and you are not omnipresent…You are a stinking P.A. Guy…This means keep your BIG MOUTH SHUT about things other than the game you are at.

Tell me what’s on sale at the snack bar…Tell me where there is better parking…Tell me trivia over the loud speaker…ask us to STAND WITH THE AVENGERS! But don’t give me updates or highlights from Anne Arbor, Corvallis, or College Park.

You are not Walter Cronkite, Woodward & Bernstein, or Matt Drudge…Just tell me who carried the ball, who made the tackle, and who scored the BLANKING touchdown!

I do not want to hear from you word one on NFL or college games being played on Thursday night. So swallow your squash, do your job, and keep your updates to yourself.

I’m recording the game, I’ll find out what happened between the Saints and Packers when I get home.

Any P.A. Guy who says something akin to: “Folks we have an update from New Orleans…” Should immediately be sentenced to an evening with an Amway salesman…There are worse things in life than death, and an evening with a pasty face character asking if you would like to supplement your income is an appropriate punishment for a P.A. Guy afflicted with diarrhea of the mouth while in the press box.

Rant ended. Can I get an Amen out there?

San Gabriel Defensive Coordinator Donald Bernard is 34 today.

Say What?

I said he’s 34…

Must admit, I wasn’t completely on board when I heard Wilson was moving J.R. Nelson to running back, but 176 yards and three touchdowns—even in Zero Week—are strong reminders that I just write football…I don’t play or coach it…Looking forward to seeing what this dude does in the games to come.

***

Maranatha free safety Daniel Rasmussen got a pick last week…The Minuteman staff is high on this 6-1, 175, junior

***

Donde Jonathan Perini? I didn’t see him mentioned in the Gabrielino win over Cerritos…The Eagles have a great match up with Bosco Tech this week…Important game for both teams…A win for Harold Sanin’s bunch will turn heads in the MVL…

***

Yes, San Dimas’ game with Azusa tonight is critical…you cannot start 0-2, expect to make it through a tough Valle Vista unscathed…and then plan on getting a nod from CIF in the second week of November.

***

Note to Fans/Coaches/Writers: The name of the Pomona quarterback is Brandin Schreiman not Brandon Schreiman.

***

If Hector Valencia’s Burbank squad pulls off a win at West Ranch…then put him on the short list for coach of the year…The Bank is supposed to be rebuilding…

***

Note to The Ranch: I understand what it means to be hit by The Ranch…but Dons fans don’t want to see what it means to be “gifted by The Ranch”…Too many gifts to Los Altos last week…

The Dude abides…
