(Pasadena)- The defnition of “Maranatha” is; “Our Lord commeth”.
A second, more finite and mortal, definition after a 41-10 victory over La Canada on Friday night might be “Maranatha has arrived.”
And they arrived with a boom in the form of Darien McGee’s four touchdowns, two through the air, one on the ground, and the other on a sudden addiction to plus 90-yard kick-off returns for touchdowns.
The boom persisted in quarterback Andrew Elffers who fired off three scoring passes as the Minutemen built a 27-0 lead in the firt half.
The Spartans lone toucdown came on their first drive of the third quarter when Kyle Herron scored on a 3-yard run.
Maranatha is now 5-0 and while La Canada dropped to 1-3.
