The Wildcats (2-3, 0-0) fought back from an early 23-7 deficit as they overcame the Pirates (1-4, 0-0) Friday night at Paramount High.

The Pirates held a 36-33 lead when quarterback Blake Heyworth connected with Mason Bryant for a 27-yard score with 25 seconds left in the game but a game-ending sack by De’Shawn Ramirez on Pirate quarterback Lamont Odom preserved the win.

Heyworth had a monster game completing 22 of 36 for 396 yards and six touchdowns to help M-Town snap a three game losing streak.

Benefiting from Heyworth’s big night were wide receivers Bryant (7-146-3Tds), Luke Williams (7-117-Td), and Ramirez (3-77-2Tds).

Without Ellis McCarthy, shining on defense again for Ryan Maddox’s team was Brett Walsh with 16 tackles.
