(Hacienda Heights) – J.R. Nelson broke a school record for rushing yards in a game as he ran for 401 yards on 24 carries to lead Wilson to a 42-26 win over Baldwin Park Thursday night.
Nelson also rushed for five touchdowns including one for 76 yards in the second half. Nelson’s 38 yard TD run put the Wildcats up for good in the second half.
Nelson broke the record previously held by Tim Gilmore who rushed for 351 yards in a game.
Wilson finished the season 1-9 overall (1-5 in the Valle Vista) while Baldwin Park dropped to 2-8 and 0-6.
