I heard it has absolutely nothing to do with football or football equipment, but rather he just went on a personal spending frenzy!

The blowtorch to Mooney’s career and integrity is more effective than any stint in the Grey Bar Hotel might be. Who would be in a rush to hire MM and hand over the keys now?
It is a blemish that will never fade and unfortunately may come to define his coaching time, despite many great accomplishments and his unquestioned positive impact on young men he coached….including players at San Marino.

He made a big mistake and it is unfortunate and also flat out dumb on his part. I prefer to remember Mooney in the way when he showed up at the TC freshman team banquet as a guest speaker, way back in 2005, maybe 06. He spoke about the traits that make up a good football player…and his words came from down deep. Great speaker and motivator…I remember telling myself how fortunate I was to have my kid going to TC and soon to be playing for the man.
    Good luck MM.
