Along with posting the Top 20 teams in the area, the Mid will now post a players to watch list for the basketball season.

1. Michelle Miller (Pasadena Poly) – All Miller did last season is lead the Panthers to a CIF-SS Division title.
2. Emoni Jackson (Muir) – Averaged a double-double last season.
3. Nikki Wheatley (Bonita) – How far would the Bearcats gone without Wheatley?
4. Joelle Tucker (Monrovia) – Everyone knows about Gina Henderson, but Tucker was just as productive for the LadyCats.
5. Chelsea Barnes (Diamond Ranch) – Many will argue that Erika Williams should be rated higher, but after watching the Panthers last season. Came away impressed.
6. Imari Brown (Duarte) – Help lead the Falcons to a semi-final appearance in the playoffs.
7. Kari Korver (Valley Christian) – Pure shooter from outside that can bury three-pointers all night long.
8. Leeah Powell (Bishop Amat) – Hard-working rebounder plays taller than her 5-6 height.
9. Alyson Lock (Keppel) – Lock was instrumental in the resurgence of the Aztec program.
10.Nisja Bass (Mayfair) – Finished last season with 13 points and two assists per game for the Monsoons.
11.Kandyce Smith (La Salle) – Injured early in the season in 2010-11, Smith returned just in time in the playoffs to guide the Lancers to a quarterfinal appearance.
12.Ashli Baddorf (Covina) – Former Covina coach Matt Kearns raved about Baddorf who was consistent last year.
13.Erika Williams (Diamond Ranch) – One of the better point-guards you will see all year long.
14.Gina Henderson (Monrovia) – Henderson can go on a streak where she accounts for all the teams points in a quarter.
15.Jeana Magana (Whittier) – Averaged 15 points per game and dropped 28 against West Ranch in the playoffs.
16.Taylor Jackson (San Dimas) – 12 points per game and 1st team all-league.
17.Priscilla Rodriguez (Cantwell-Sacred Heart) – Is one of two returning players. Can pass and shoot.
18.Megan Rutherford (Pasadena) – Was in the shadow of Taylor Crockum, but still averaged eight points a game.
19.Ella Stepanian (Crescenta Valley) – The 5’11 sophomore could lead the Falcons back to the top of the Pacific League.
20.Courtney Chen (La Canada) – Chen is the general in a young offense that has only three seniors.
