BREAKING NEWS: Barajas is Back at Arroyo

By Tim Peterson

(El Monte) Carlos Barajas, an Arroyo alum, has returned as Head Coach of the boys varsity basketball team again after being named this week. Barajas was the head coach at Arroyo previously leaving after the 2005 season.

David Ng took over at Arroyo for the 2006 season before handing the reins over to Lydell McCullough who led the Knights for three seasons before resigning in April to spend more time with his family.

Barajas has coached in the Mission Valley League the last two years serving as an assistant to Pat Ahhing at Rosemead.

“I think it was a great hire,” McCullough said. “He belongs at Arroyo and I know he will do a great job with the kids.”

Barajas will take over the position immediately.
