ARCADIA 41 NOTRE DAME 35
Arcadia rebounded from Friday night’s loss to Bishop Amat by upsetting Notre Dame Sherman Oaks in the Third Place game of the Lady Knights Classic on Saturday night, 41-35.
Playing without Melody Chang for long stretches in the first half, the Apaches still took a seven point lead into the break, thanks enpart to Julissa Aguirre’s six points. She also finished with a team-high 11 points.
Aguirre played a big role on defense stopping the inside game of the Knights.
Feudi Asemota led Notre Dame in scoring with eight points, most coming from the inside.
LA CANADA 36 LOS ALTOS 25
The Spartans improved to 4-4 and have its long winning streak of the season at three after jumping out to a 11-1 lead and holding off a third quarter rally by Los Altos to take fifth place in the Lady Knights Classic, 36-25.
Lauren Barsamian scored a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in leading La Canada.
The Conquerors battled back in the second half cutting the lead to as close as six late in the game as Natalie Edwards scored.
Barsamian iced the game away late as she made three of four from the charity stripe.
