The Ten

(“The Ten” is not a top ten, but ten items worth being included in The TEN)

1.) Ohio State receives one year bowl ban and the loss of nine scholarships over the next three years.                

2.) USC safety T.J. McDonald announced he will return for his senior season.                  

3.) UCLA Coach Jim L. Mora vows to stop the “over the wall” tradition of players skipping practice that dates back to 1980.                     

4.) Kobe Bryant tore a ligament in his right wrist and is currently listed as day to day.                               

5.) UCLA quarterback Richard Brehaut was suspended from the Bruins’ bowl game on December 31 for violating team rules.               

6. DeAndre Jordan.                    

7.) Steven Rivera, Marquise Bias, Alex Villalobos and Mason Bryant were recognized by ESPN as First Team Offensive Players on the LA South- All Region Football Team. Ellis McCarthy was the Defensive MVP and Brett Walsh is on the First Team Defense.                      

8.) Matt Barkley will decide today if he will stay at USC or declare for the NFL draft.                  

9.) The Lakers open the season Sunday with three games in three days minus Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, and possibly Kobe Bryant.                          

10.) The Darryl Sutter era begins for the LA Kings.
