1.) Coach Paul Westphal is fired by Sacaramento after a 2-5 start.

2.) Quarterback Landry Jones is returing to Oklahoma for his senior year. 

3.) The Jeff Fisher Tour continues as he meets with the Rams. 

4.) Memphis forward Zach Randolph will miss two months with torn MCL.

5.) USC will close the 2012 regular season at UCLA and at home against Notre Dame. UCLA finishes with Stanford after USC.

6.) West Virginia broke the bowl record for points with a 70-33 win over Clemson Wednesday night in the Orange Bowl. The previous record was set by Baylor with 67 six nights earlier in the Alamo Bowl.  

7.) West Virginia’s Geno Smith.

8.) Magic Johnson, Steve Garvey, Orel Hershiser, Peter O’Malley, Fred Claire, and Joe Torre are all big names in LA that have their sights set on buying the Dodgers. 

9.) Former Chicago Bear receiver Sam Hurd is indicted by a federal grand jury on drug charges.

10.) On this date in 1920 the New York Yankees purchased 24 year old Babe Ruth from the Boston Red Sox for the record price of $125,000.
