(West Covina) – Albert Rodriguez, who has been the offensive coordinator at South Hills as well as the offensive line coach since 2006, has been named Head Coach of the Huskies.
Rodriguez is a graduate of South Hills and played his college ball at San Diego State University.
Rodriguez is very familiar and should make a smooth transition for the Huskies.
“I can safely tell you that he been groomed for the job and will do an excellent job,” said former South Hills Assistant James Escarcega. “If I wasn’t in the situation that I’m in at Crespi (which is as good as it gets for a high school coach) I’d be right there with him at South Hills. Great choice.”
South Hills finished 3-7 overall and 0-5 in the Sierra League last year.
Rodriguez takes over for Steve Bogan who resigned earlier this month.
