If my son was gonna be a sophomore at Muir, I’d have already reached out to Lance or someone on his staff. I’m getting out of there as soon as this football season ends.
If he were gonna be a junior, I’d have already gone to BP or CO.

Thanks for that. I actually didn’t know that was a rule but that makes more sense now. Still though, the players probably don’t want to be there which isn’t ideal for Muir.

It is quite literally the rule that you cannot follow a coach. So let’s just say a Muir kid transfers to St. Francis. Paperwork must be filed. CIF will see that a Muir kid is now at St. Francis. He will immediately be declared ineligible for a year in football as Bylaw 207 and Bylaw 510 violations because players cannot follow their coach to his new school.
You know Pasadena Local, I’ve heard the reason all the Muir kids haven’t left for St Francis is that apparently the Muir admin were going to report them if they transferred. I can’t confirm the reports are true but I heard someone say that a little while ago. If it’s true, you have a team with players that don’t want to be there and coaches that from what I have heard, are quite below average. I think Muir has too much talent to be bad, but this has the chance to be a disaster over at JMHS. This would also explain while St Francis couldn’t get guys like Deveon Blaylock, Noah Bozeman, Arthur Moreno, and more.
I’m less interested in how a more talented Muir team does this year in league than I’m interested in how Pasadena’s talent drain doesn’t continue & get much worse in 2027. Loyola been doing it for years. Charter Oak already pillaging Pasadena. Baldwin Park now getting tons of kids too. Maxie was recruiting like crazy to PHS and now he’s getting Pasadena kids to go way out to Baldwin Park! Lance hasn’t even gotten started at St. Francis with Pasadena kids but he definitely will. He’s got a great staff of real Pasadena people.
Throw in the disaster of PUSD and all the Pasadena HS football programs are about to be a mess. Everyone gonna be looking for that PUSD release.
If Muir starts the season slowly, might be a long 4 months over there. Legit questions whether Matt V is still coaching the team when they’re playing at Burbank. He’s the worst “coach” in their new league but has, by far, the most talent. Also some real shadiness. And he’s not one of us. I’m curious how Muir looks in 2027 and 2028, who their coach is, and what talent is left at the city schools.
Dark clouds forming over PUSD schools. Was getting bad before but when they couldn’t keep Lance at Muir, you knew it was finna be real rough.
I don’t trust Muir’s coaching staff. Likely 5-5 or 4-6 with this schedule. I think the games against Burbank and La Canada could lose the Mustangs fanbase if they can’t win those games.

I also want to note the only “home” games they have are against Bishop Montgomery and Monrovia. They are redoing their field so games like St. Pius, Redondo Union, and Burbank are all away games from what I have heard.
