Ochoa’s Thoughts on Torres, Ruedaflores

Alhambra DC Jacob Ochoa

(Alhambra) – Alhambra Head Coach Lou Torres stepped down Tuesday after two seasons at the helm. Torres, who was previously the Moors’ AD, succeeded the legendary Gil Ruedaflores who spent his life as a coach including 21 years as the HC at Alhambra. Defensive Coordinator Jacob Ochoa, who could be in line for the job, served on the coaching staff under both men. He shared some of his thoughts on Wednesday.

“I am very proud to have been mentored by two incredible and influential coaches, Gil Ruedaflores and Lou Torres. Both men dedicated their lives to their families and to those young men they helped better themselves through football. I hope to have the opportunity to continue in those footsteps and remain a Moor. We should know in the next couple of weeks which direction the program will go. The outlook is bright for the 2012 Alhambra Football team.”

Ochoa also had a word for the Alhambra players returning in 2012.

“Keep working hard and getting ready Juniors and Seniors!”

The Moors finished 9-3 last year and advanced to the second round of the playoffs. They have several key players returning including quarterback Josh Mendoza, OL/DL Chris Caraveo and running back Ezra Broadus.
