“The Across America Edition”

Good Morning!

T-minus-22 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Game Ten: September 8, 1989 at Arroyo

Temple City blew a 14-0 halftime lead and a 21-17 lead (following Chris Antonio’s 92-yard kick-off return) with 9:24 to play in the fourth to fall to Arroyo, 24-21, for the third straight season. The Knights game winning drive covered 84-yards on 18-plays, 8:25 of clock, and ended when quarterback Cruz Alverado scored on a one-yard run, his second of the evening.

Rams quarterback Terry Fesler scored twice in the first half, and Arroyo took its first lead at the start of the fourth quarter on a 70-yard halfback option from Darren MacLellan to Freddie Martinez.

Maybe it’s just me, but the stop lights seem to take forever outside of California…

I’m not worried about the Dodgers winning the West, I’m worried about playing the Cardinals…When the Redbirds show up the Bums choke worse than Santa Fe in the playoffs…

Had a bad experience for the first time—ever—at Cracker Barrel outside of Little Rock yesterday…You can make a mistake on my order, you can spill my drink, you can even be busy and I’ll understand…but don’t ever sit me down and leave me there for a half hour without any acknowledgement…That stops the train in its tracks…

Just a few years ago Baldwin Park and San Dimas were in the same division with Oaks Christian, currently ranked sixth (seventh?) in USA Today’s Top 25 for prep football…

You know when you travel and your hotel puts a USA Today in front of your door in the morning? I’ve drawn an O-For on this trip…not one newspaper…

Feel the need to go back to Tennessee, nice place, need more time there…

Arkansas? Well’s lets just say Razorback Pizza outside of Little Rock heading west save the state’s honor…

Oklahoma City has graciously offered us thunder, lightening, and torrential rain…beautiful from the hotel room, awesome,…not too cool when sailing down I-40…

Maybe its just me but I don’t think I would have spent the money on Stephen Strasburg…then again frivolous spending has never been an issue in Washington…I could be wrong but I have a feeling they are going to take this one in the Beltres…

Stay thirsty my friends…
