Wildcats Use Sixth Sense to Beat South Pas

Monrovia's James Tubbs scores in the sixth inning

(Monrovia) – Monrovia scored six runs in the sixth inning to break open a tie game and rolled to a 7-1 win over South Pasadena Friday in Rio Hondo League action.

With the game knotted at one to start the bottom of the sixth, Carl Daniels opened the inning with a double to left and after a fielder’s choice and a walk, scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch. James Tubbs walked and eventually scored on a base hit by Justin Jones. Chris Burkholder, who reached on a fielder’s choice, stole home to make it 3-1. David Perez and Jones scored on a two run base hit by Reed Miller and Miller came around on another pitch that got away. By the time the dust settled in M-Town it was 7-1 Wildcats.

Brad Felty then finished off the Tigers in the seventh. Monrovia improved to 1-1 in league and 5-2 overall. South Pasadena fell to 0-2 and 5-4.
