Los Altos – La Puente on the First day of June

Mano-a mano

(La Puente) – La Puente and Los Altos got together Friday night to throw it around a little. They actually had a running clock and kept score but that was just for the skill guys. The most compelling competition might have been taking place at the far end of the field where the linemen were running through an obstacle course that consisted of, among other things, pushing sleds, flipping a monster tire, lugging weights and searching for a football among a mountain of pads.

The Warriors came out to play

Los Altos Coach Dale Ziola

Ivan Vasquez, a three year starter, was winging it for Brandon Roher’s Warriors, while first year QB Christian Hacegaba was chucking it for Los Altos. The Conquerors have only four starters returning from last year’s team that advanced to the CIF Southeast Semi Finals where they fell to La Serna. La Puente, which finished second in the Montview League and lost in the first round to Alhambra, wasn’t hit quite as hard by graduation.

"All right look. You hit the course first and come back and tell me how it is."
