Every person leaves somebody, they will all go there separate ways either now or later !! Get over it, the kid is gone it will allow another kid to step up and show what they got. One kid does not make the difference for the team nor can one kid try to please everyone. If Alhambra went to a spread for this Kid, it obvious that wasnt a concern for him. Come August check and see if Mendoza is the back up, dont think so !!!! Go Monrovia !!!!
One more thing, Alhambra went from a wing T to a spread offense just for Mendoza…
I Agree with you BigT, I also come from a city section school (Franklin my years were from 88, to 90) So I would think the talent is any lessor than at a southern section team. Mendoza is going to benifit with Garfiels Program… My beef is that he left he’s teamates of 3 years to eat dust, what is that teaching your Kid?
Garfield….I’m impressed with the non-league schedule. Still wondering if Monrovia has stepped it up too. Who have they scheduled?
The problem that someone like parents4u is that they see a City Section school like Garfield and automatically assume that the talent level is substandard to what they’re used to in the Southern Section. I wouldn’t be surprised if they thought Keppel has a better team. In the interest of full disclosure, I’ve never hidden the fact that I’m an alumnus of Garfield, as are my parents and younger brother and hopefully, so will my children when the time comes.
Now, as the dawgpownd pointed out, Garfield once again is taking on one of the hardest pre-season schedules is all of the City Section. Look back on their previous seasons, where they took on the likes of Bishop Amat and Orange Lutheran, where they held both schools to some of their lowest scores in the seasons they met. Every opponent they’ve faced have been pushed to the brink. Even last year, their only loss in the Eastern League came against Southeast, which had endured a tragedy on campus the morning of the game. But the point is, it’s not Garfield that will benefit from Mendoza’s presence, it’s Mendoza who will benefit from being in a program that strives to improve themselves by taking on the best competition they can find.
And at the end of the day, isn’t that what’s best for him?
What happened to having the Keppel coach on the midvalley sport show
They should be allowed to brag……………til somebody knocks them off!!!
The kid is gone move on..Seems like some” PARENTS 4 u” have too much time on their hands lol
congrats Cody..well deserved
The kids gone move on..seems like some “PARENTS 4U” have
too much time on their hands lol writing nonsense on here
Congrats Cody!
Garfield’s first 4 opponents to start the 2012-13 season.
St. Bonaventure (PAC 5)
Edison (PAC 5)
Dorsey (Div. 1)
Venice (Div. 1)
If Josh Mendoza gets the starting nod over at Garfield, the kid has the opportunityto do something special. 1. “Upset” any of the 4 teams listed. 2. Statistically good numbers win or lose.
Unfortunately the Alhambra offense was not set up for a west coast style Quarterback.
No team in the SGV would dare schedule a preseason like this one.
Monrovia, Paraclete or Sierra Canyon nice schools, but start playing some real football.

He’s a back up because there is a RETURNING SOPHMORE that has a lot more potential than he does!!!! Garfield has no chance, alhambra will go deep into the playoffs because of the defense….They are a QB Away from giving some of these bigger shools a scare… MONROVIA should stop bragging and move up…
Congrats to Cody from Dub C….good kid. Legit offer
LOL Alhambra had no chance of beating Monrovia, Paraclete or Sierra Canyon, and he is a backup because he just got there. However, Garfield has a better shot of winning city, than Alhambra does in Midvalley. However, I don’t understand the move because, Garfield won’t win it either.
Josh Mendoza is a back up at Garfield… He went from being a starter with the possibility of winning a championship, to being a back up. What a Joke. Thats what happens when the parents get involed ( Harmon )..
