“Everything you do, from here on out, should be about beating Davis. How you eat, how you work out, how your rest, should be about beating Davis,”— Victor Santa Cruz.
(Azusa)- Azusa Pacific head coach Victor Santa Cruz was happy with the first day in full uniform, but also expects it to be the worst day going forward.
“If we progress and keep doing what we need to do to get ready of for (UC) Davis, then this should be our worst practice,” he said.
With triple digit heat in the air and rising off the field turf of their new practice facility an army of Cougars hit the field Saturday afternoon. Some very familiar, some familiar, and others new to area football.
“Right now Justin McPherson, Tyler Tuiasosopo, and newcomer Nick Owens are our top three at quarterback,” Santa Cruz said. “We’re rotating them so they all get a chance to work with our ones (first team).”
Here are a few pictures from Saturday.

Nick Owens is a well traveled quarterback. He comes to APU via South Alabama, Pasadena City College, and Moorpark.

Mvs idk how many players are on the roster from those jc. I thought u guys would know. My guess is at least 5. I just wanted to see how much local talent they had. Considering mt.sac has been going to the title game for the past couple of years u would think APU would want to get some if their players. And elac improving the last to years. And pcc looks to be getting better with the new coach. Why don’t u guys cover jc football more?
Mvs do guys know how many jc players from mt.sac, pcc, and elac are at Apu
MVS Staff: Is this a trivia question for us? If so we would love to hear who.
