(La Puente) – Jose “Nacho” Zamora (120) and Chris Cervantes (129) combined for 249 yards on the ground as Mt. View rumbled past Bassett 28-21 Friday night to improve to 2-0.
The Vikings gained over 3oo total rushing yards on the Olympians. Jose Moreno added six carries for 55 yards and a score and Yasban “Beast” Bazan also had a touchdown run.
“They didn’t stop us, we stopped ourselves,” said Mt. View offensive coordinator Warren Orloff. “They had no answer for our running game.”
Mt. View will take its perfect record into Baldwin Park next week to face Sierra Vista. Bassett, (1-1) will square off against Glenn.
