(Pasadena) – Pasadena Poly ran out to a 35-0 lead by halftime and cruised to a 49-0 rout of Blair Saturday afternoon. The only thing hotter than the Panther offense was the sun that was beating down on the players at Babcock Field.
Griffin Carter got the party started with a five yard touchdown run mid way through the first quarter. Two minutes later, Alex Pinon busted off a 46 yard scoring jaunt for a 14-0 lead.
Quarterback Nolan Mulligan did it himself on a keeper from a yard out with 1:19 left in the first to cap a long march for a three touchdown advantage.
Pinon blasted in from a yard out early in the second and with 3:20 left in the half and Mulligan found a wide open Curtis Toyota who motored his way 30 yards for the score and the rout was on.
Poly scored only twice the rest of the way but the entire second half was played with a running clock. The Panthers improved to 2-0 while Blair drops to 0-2. The Vikings, who were in danger of not fielding a varsity team this year due to lack of players, have been outscored 126-14 in three games.
