The Jerry DeSantis era at Alhambra got off to a good start as the Moors (3-4, 1-1) continued the Aztecs’ (0-7, 0-2) winless streak Friday night at Keppel High’s Aztec Stadium.
The Moors took a 47-0 lead before the Aztecs got on the board with a 12-yard run with 39 seconds left in the half. Ezra Broadus and Sebastian Espinoza each scored twice in the first quarter as the Moors built a 35-0 lead after the first. Quarterback Armando Amaya completed only three of six passes in the game but all three were touchdown throws in the first quarter, two to Espinoza and one to Joseph Nieto.
RIO HONDO
San Marino 86, Blair 0
The Titans (7-0, 2-0) shattered the school’s single-game record for most points in a game as they destroyed the hapless Vikings (0-7, 0-2) Friday at San Marino High.
The Titans previous record, a 75-0 shut out of Keppel, came in 2007. So far this season, the Vikings have been shut out five times and have been outscored 390-28 this season.
Titan quarterback Matt Wofford lasted the first quarter but scored two touchdowns on two carries. He was replaced in the second by Andrew Ferraco, who scored three times in the game. The Titans had a 37-0 lead after the first quarter and let 51-0 at halftime.
VALLE VISTA
Northview 27, Wilson 7
The Vikings (5-2, 3-0) stayed tied for first with San Dimas as they held off the Wildcats (2-6, 1-3) Friday night at Wilson High.
Javon Taylor scored three of the Vikings’ four scores on his way to a 175-yard performance on the ground. The Vikings held a 17-0 lead at the half and never trailed.
