The Old School set up has turned into “Big Two, LIttle Ten” for now. No one will argue Monrovia and Arroyo’s spots at the top, but I’m sure they will contest who should be first. We lean Wildcats because of experience for now. The jury is still out on TC, SG, and Alham, but Rosemead needs to be careful. Already banged up, this week they play a physically superior team and could come out of it with more casualties. Old School Mid Valley appears weekly at www.midvalleysports.com

.) Monrovia: He won’t catch a 100-passes or run for a 1,000-yards, but Grant Haggard is a star in the trenches for M-Town.

.) Arroyo: We’re ready to create the “Fans of Sam Torres” page on Facebook.

.) Alhambra: Got a “W” on the road, Vai Peko can play, in a sea of local chaos they are number three for now.

.) San Gabriel: Should get fat on Contreras this weekend and be ready for San Marino after bye week. Fabian Amaro is off to a nice start.

.) Rosemead: Lost to M-Town, but they also have a win, tough to drop them any further. We are pro Conrado Simpson.

.) Temple City: Winless by six-points. Could easily be number three. Carlos Mota should be called Carlos Motor. Dude doesn’t stop when on the field.

.) Gabrielino: Didn’t settle, didn’t accept, what looked like a loss to Keppel. Came back for the victory.

.) Arcadia: The start has not been pretty, but how do you put the wood to a team that has lost to Monrovia and St. Francis?

.) El Monte: This is the week to squeeze out a non-league victory because it won’t get any easier against Baldwin Park and Rowland.

.) South El Monte: Were close against Workman. South’s business now is to survive until the October 16 MVL opener with Mt. View.

.) Mt. View: With Bassett, Keppel, and SEM next on schedule, Vikes could run off three in a row.

.) Duarte: The Falcons will score this week and if the administration will show some support of Tip Sanders, Duarte will have the last laugh in the seasons to come.
