Burbank celebrates the win over Burroughs

(Burbank) – Burbank ran wild in a 37-14 rout of Burroughs Friday night to own city bragging rights.

In the first quarter, Yervand Umrikyan booted a 27 yard field goal for the first points of the contest. Later Joseph Pendleton rushed in from a yard out to put the Bulldogs up 10-0 after one.

In the second quarter, Burbank quarterback Ryan Meredith muscled his way in from three yards out to put Burbank up 17-0. Later in the quarter Kyle Hunter scooped up a touchdown after a Burroughs bad snap resulted in a fumble in the end zone and the Bulldogs were cruising 24-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter The rout continued as James Williams broke loose for a 90 yard run to pay dirt for a 30-0 advantage.

Finally Teddy Arlington waltzed in from a yard out for the Dogs final score.

Burroughs showed some life late as Josh Storer scored from  a yard out and  later Andrew Williams connected with Storer for a 16 yard touchdown to make it 37-14.

Burroughs finished 4-3 in league and 4-6 overall and which could be good enough to make the playoffs. Burbank went 6-1 for a second place Pacific finish. The Bulldogs were 7-3 overall.
