6.) On this day in 1865, the U.S. House of Representatives passes the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, abolishing slavery in America. The amendment read, “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude…shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

8.) Christian talk show host/former MLB pitcher Frank Pastore, 55, dies  after spending four weeks in a coma following a traffic accident. Pastore pitched for the Cincinnati Reds from 1979 to 1985.

9.) Los Altos (Jr.) running back/kick returner Marcos Estuardo 2012 stats: 871 yards rushing, 171 yards receiving, 465 yards on kick off returns, and 19 total touchdowns (Rushing 15. Returns 3. Receiving 1).
