BG & Ramos Part Company

Former Bell Gardens HC David Ramos

After 13 seasons helming the Lancers program, David Ramos announced that he and Bell Gardens have decided to go in different directions.

Ramos, who will continue to teach history at the school, informed his staff on Wednesday that he was parting ways with the football program. The school has already began the process of looking at resumes for the head coaching position.

After taking over in 2000 Bell Gardens compiled a 79-62-2 record under Ramos, including nine playoff appearances over 13 seasons. The Lancers were 4-9 under Ramos in the post-season with three of those losses coming to powerhouse Charter Oak teams. His best season came in 2002 when BG reached the semifinals before falling to Walnut in a heavily disputed game.
