Albert Sanchez will coach the East in his final game at the Hall of Fame
Gladstone’s Albert Sanchez (East) and Joel Sanchez of El Monte (West) have been named the head coaches for the Hall of Fame All-Star Game scheduled for May 17 at West Covina High.
Albert Sanchez led the Gladiators to a Montview League title, an overall record of 10-2 and into the second round of the Northwest Division playoffs. It will be Sanchez’ swan song. He stepped down as Gladstone HC at the conclusion of the season.
El Monte’s Joel Sanchez will coach the West
Joel Sanchez also guided his team into the second round of the Mid-Valley Division playoffs and a share of the MVL crown. The Lions finished 8-4 overall. El Monte’s Brian Tabatabai will serve as offensive coordinator for the West.
“I’m not sure we’ll have to include a kicker on the roster,” Tabatabai said. “If so we may have to teach him how to run some routes.”
