(Pomona) – Diamond Ranch outscored Rosemead 20-7 in the second quarter and that was enough to beat the Lady Panthers 50-33 Saturday night in the second round of the Division 3AAA Playoffs.
D-Ranch led 14-12 after one but opened up a 15 point halftime lead with the big second quarter. Neither team mustered much offense in the second half as Diamond Ranch outscored Rosemead 7-5 in the third quarter.
Tai Lark led Diamond Ranch with 16 points while Rosemead’s Sydney Hua led all scorers with 20. The Lady Panthers were playing without leading scorer Melody Gautheir who was out with a broken hand.
Diamond Ranch now advances to the semi finals to play Laguna Hills.
