1. Three-time Pro Bowl linebacker Shawne Merriman announces he is retiring from the NFL.

2. Green Bay Packer receiver Greg Jennings will become an unrestricted free agent.

3. Diamond Ranch center Kammy Delp.

4. Kobe Bryant has 42 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds and the Lakers rally from a 25 point deficit to beat New Orleans 108-102.

5. USC has its first quarterback competition since 2009 as sophomores Cody Kessler and Max Wittek and freshman Max Browne are all contending for the job.

6. In three starts this spring, Dodger ace Clayton Kershaw has allowed eight runs and 17 hits with an ERA of 9.00.

7. Washington State beats UCLA 73-61 Wednesday night. It’s the first time in 20 years that the the Bruins have lost in Pullman.

8. West Covina senior offensive linemen and twin brothers Matt Garcia (6-4, 255) and Marco Garcia (6-4, 225).

9. Bassett running back Ricky Mejia 2012 stats, freshman year: 96-523 yards, 1TD.

10. Former UCLA/Los Angeles Ram wide receiver Willie “Flipper” Anderson turns 48 today.
