By Tim Peterson (Los Angeles) – USC Coach Clay Helton named Max Browne the starting quarterback Saturday afternoon. Browne, a redshirt junior, had the edge coming into training camp but he was pressed the least few weeks by redshirt freshman Sam Darnold.
By Tim Peterson Overheard at USC practice on Saturday by another reporter. “This is nothing like camp at UCLA. There’s just no energy at UCLA. Here you can feel the excitement. Over there nobody cares.”
