1.) Former La Canada quarterback Rocky Moore turns 22 today.

2.) Stephen Jackson signs with the Atlanta Falcons for three years/12-million. Four million guaranteed.

3.) Former Bell Gardens DC Frank Gallardo has joined Margarito Beltran’s staff at La Serna.

4.) Cornerback Sean Smith (Blair ’05) leaves the Miami Dolphins for three year/18-million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. Eleven million guaranteed. (Smith played for Kevin Mills in 2004 and led the Vikings to a 5-5 record. He played college football at Utah.)

5.) Don Young has stepped down as the Arcadia girls basketball coach. The Lady Apaches went 23-5 this season.

6.) Former El Monte Lions HC and recent La Puente DC Greg Vaniman will return to Glendora this fall as the Tartans DC.

7.) The Burbank Bulldogs returns six trenchman who received significant playing time along the offensive line in 2012.

8.) On this date in 44 BC Julius Caesar is assassinated by members of the Roman Senate.
