1. Cal State Northridge Coach Bobby Braswell fired after a 17 year run.

2. The Dodgers’ Hanley Ramirez injured his thumb in the WBC championship game Tuesday.

3. Miami rallies from a 27 point third quarter deficit to beat Cleveland and extend the winning streak to 24.

4. The Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins will meet in the Hall of Fame Game on August 4.

5. NFL owners vote to eliminate the tuck rule, and to penalize crown of the helmet hits by players who are outside of the tackle box or at least three yards downfield.

6. The Anaheim Ducks are 22-3-4 after a 4-2 win Wednesday night over Chicago (24-3-3).

7. Indiana is the number one seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time 1993.

8. Nogales is 9-0 after a 2-1 win over Baldwin Park Tuesday.

9. San Dimas sophomore Logan Murratalla is batting .500 (15 for 30) with 16 RBIs and six runs scored through the first nine games.

10. On this date in 1964 UCLA wins the first of its 10 NCAA championships coached by John Wooden and finishes the season 30-0.
