1.) Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez set to have surgery. Will be out 8-10 weeks.

2.)  Both Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol set to make return for the Lakers against visiting Washington.

3.) “I wanted to be a Bear. I wanted to play here and finish my career here, and I think that’s what kind of made me mad too,” said Brian Urlacher. The 8-time pro bowler was offered a one year two million dollar offer form the Bears.

4.) Northwestern is expected to interview Duke assistant Chris Collins for its head-coaching job.

5.) Palestinian militants in Gaza fired two rockets on Thursday at southern Israel, on the second day of President Barack Obama’s visit to the region.

6.) Corey Brewer sank three free throws with 2.1 seconds left and the Denver Nuggets stretched their franchise-best winning streak to 14 games with a 101-100 thriller over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.

7.) Harvard basketball won its first NCAA tournament game in school history, defeating New Mexico 68-62.

8.) Former Bears wide receiver Harlon Hill passes at the age of 80.

9.) The Blair baseball team, according to MaxPreps, has only three games in the 2013 season.

10.) Montebello and San Gabriel go into Friday’s baseball game tied for first in Almont league play.
