(Covina District Field) – South Hills’ Quarterback Jacob Shirley was a perfect 10 for 10 for 319 yards and three touchdowns but even more impressive was the 266 yard, five touchdown performance by Geoffrey Vaughns. Combine that with 629 total yards, (a new school record) and it all adds up to a 62-0 Huskie rout of Northview Friday night.

  Ronnie Tennell also had a four yard run TD run, Rayes Barrera returned a fumble ten yards for a score and Ify Umodu racked up 103 yards for two touchdowns on just as many catches as South Hills raced out to a 42-0 halftime lead.

 

  The Huskies put up 405 yards in the first half and added another 224 in the second for a total of 629 yards (411 passing, 218 rushing) to set a new all time one game school offensive yardage record.

 

  Vincent Hernandez caught three throws for 83 yards and Jordan Gutierrez came through with receptions of 33, 8 and 41.

 

  Northview managed only 86 total yards on offense against the South Hills D. Martin Arredondo completed four of nine passes for 42 yards. The Vikings managed just 16 yards on 12 carries by Kamaron Germany.

 

  The Huskies hit pay dirt on nine of 11 possessions, and its defense only allowed the Vikings inside midfield twice. A 10 minute running clock was enforced in the “garbage time” fourth quarter.
