1.) Kobe Bryant makes the 1st All-NBA Team for the 11th time in his career, tying Karl Malone for the most for the most of all time. Chris Paul was the other guard selected.

2.) CB Charles Woodson rejoins the Oakland Raiders.

3.) The Los Angeles Kings defeat the San Jose Sharks in Game 5 of the NHL Western Conference Semifinals by the score of 3-0. Jonathan Quick records his second shutout of the series and his third of the postseason. With the win, the Kings lead the series 3-2.

4.) Flynn Robinson, who was on the 1971-1972 Lakers team that won Los Angeles its first NBA title, died yesterday at age 72.

5.) On this day in 2000, 12-time all-star point guard Isiah Thomas and two-time championship winning center Bob McAdoo were inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

6.) On Wednesday, May 22, head coach Phil Jackson described his reaction when he received the news from Los Angeles’ Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak: “I laughed. It was humorous to me when Mitch said that we think that Mike [D’Antoni] is a better coach for this group of guys.”

7.) On this day in 1967, the Cincinatti Bengals were born into the AFL.

8.) Happy birthday to Hall of Fame Detroit Pistons guard Joe Dumars, who turns 50 today.

9.) After eight Pro Bowl seasons, a Defensive Player of the Year award in 2005, a trip to the Super Bowl in 2006, and 13 seasons of being a dominant NFL linebacker, former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher retires at age 34 on Wednesday.

10.) Rowland High School sophomore linebacker Adrian Campos 2012 stats: 106 total tackles, 9.6 tackles a game (led team in both categories).
