1.  Dodgers sweep the Cubs and set a franchise record of 14 straight road wins.

2.  Basketball lost it’s greatest announcer, Chick Hearn,  on this day in 2002.

3.  NFL Hall of Famer and former Ohio State receiver Cris Carter apologizes to the Buckeye Nation at his induction ceremony on Saturday for missing his senior season after signing with a sports agent.

4.  “He’s the best running back in our conference and probably one of the top five in the country.” San Diego State head coach Rocky Long on former Charter Oak running back Adam Muema

5.  Former New York Knick and Georgetown Hoya Patrick Ewing turns 51 today.

6.  Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.

8.  On this day in 1979 Willie Mays was inducted in to MLB Hall of Fame.
