Mid Valley JUCO Wire… Week 6

 Mt. Sac 55     Citrus 0              (Oct 10, 2009 at Walnut, CA)

 In the battle for Grand Avenue, Mt. Sac was absolutely dominant.  Jesse Canada (Monrovia) led the way with eight catches for 135-yards and three touchdowns.  Ahmere Owens (Muir) caught four for 79-yards and a score, Richard Parham (South Hills) added three catches for 33-yards and a touchdown and Michael Harrell (Charter Oak) also caught three for 42-yards and a score.  On the ground, Bryce McBride (Bishop Amat) carried the ball six times for 36-yards.  Deshawn Gaisie (Bishop Amat) had one kick return for 17-yards and a tackle on defense.

 On defense, Austin Daniels (Muir) had two tackles, Keily Rycraw (Charter Oak) had one and Anress Ikner (Pasadena) had one.

 For Citrus, Brandon Stansell (Rowland) carried the ball four times for 15-yards and two kick returns for 53-yards.  Isaac Tucker (West Covina) had eight carries for 10-yards and two receptions for five.  Kyle Shirley (West Covina) had a catch for 15-yards, and Rauley Zaragosa (Azusa) punted nine times for a total of 291-yards.

 Defensively for Citrus, Fernando Noriega (El Monte) had five tackles, Jesse Prieto (Amat) had three, Nico Barbone (San Dimas) had two and Xavier Tucker (West Covina) and Steven Carrera (Covina) each had one.

 Pasadena 20       Ventura 26                           (Oct 10, 2009 at Pasadena, CA)

Pasadena dropped their record to 3-3 even with Reuben Thomas (Muir) getting another touchdown reception to go along with 74 receiving yards.  Jonathan Troast (South Pasadena) completed 12 of 24 for 219-yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.  Nick Ponce (Arcadia) also saw time at QB and hit on nine of 14 for 40-yards.

 On defense, Ruben McQueen (Bonita) had four tackles, Williams Do (Temple City) and Joey Dixon (Blair) each had two.
