(Hacienda Heights)- Los Altos keeps control of “The Wheel” and steered its way past Wilson 54-17 Friday night.Justin Zamano (5 of 7 passes for 162-yards 3 Tds) connected with Ryan Longoria three times for 103-yards and a touchdown.

“They work hard. They get out there early, working on a few things,” Los Altos coach Felipe Aguilar said of the tandems work ethic. “They just went out and executed today, we expect that from them all the time”

The Wildcats scored on their first possession with a 13-yard touchdown run by Moses Vega and led 7-0 with 8:58 left in the first quarter.

The Conquerors retaliated with score of their own. Randy Rodriguez carried the ball six times for 48-yards to setup fellow running back Alex Tibbs for a one-yard touchdown run to tie the game at seven.

A couple drives later Zamano completed his first pass to Wilson defensive back Josh Nelson.

The interception setup a 44-yard field goal by kicker Hector Dominguez which gave the Cats a 10-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Late in the second quarter Zamano connected with Longoria for a 29-yard reception that sparked a quick 5-play-drive ending with another Tibbs touchdown run.

The Conquerors led 14-10 at Halftime

Los Altos’ Longoria returned a 91-yard kick off for a touchdown to start the third and put his team up 21-10.  On its next possession, the Conquerors added to the lead with a 30-yard touchdown reception by Gabriel Rodarte. LA led 28-10 with 8:59 left in the third. With a couple more three and outs by the Wildcats, Los Altos took advantage with a pair of Zamano passing touchdowns on consecutive possessions.

Leading 48-17 with seconds left on the clock, Longoria ran back another 90-yard kick return for a touchdown and ended the night with 284 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns.
