(Arcata CA) – Terrell Watson continued to run wild as he rushed for 279 yards on 37 carries to lead Azusa Pacific to a 21-13 road win over Humboldt State Saturday night. The Cougars also beat Humboldt State 28-2 earlier this year at Citrus College to complete the sweep.
The Cougars remained tied at the top of the GNAC standings with the victory improving to 5-1 in conference and 5-2 overall.
Watson’s seven-yard TD run in the fourth quarter put the game on ice for APU. Dasmen Stewart threw a pair of touchdown passes for the Cougars. He connected with Preston Van Hofwegen on a 12 yard pass in the second quarter and hooked up with Kevin Schick late in the third to give the Azusa Pacific a 14-10 lead.
The Cougars travel to Central Washington next Saturday to face the GNAC co-leader.
