(Rosemead) – Former Rosemead Head Coach Matt Koffler is returning to the sideline to coach the Panthers. But there’s a catch…it’s for one week only.
“It’s a one week contract only. Acting on a recommendation from the CIF our AD is holding Head Coach Marc Paramo and Assistant Coach Pat Ah-hing out for one week of after school practice and one game,” Koffler said. “I was asked by Marc (Paramo) and the AD as well as the school to come in and coach for a week while they are out.”
The Panthers (6-1) will travel to El Monte Friday night.
Koffler stepped down after the 2011 season in his second stint at the helm.
Koffler also emphasized that it is not a prelude to a future permanent coaching gig. “I’m enjoying where I’m at. I am good!” He said.
Although if Ed Orgeron is not retained at USC after this year then… “I hope so!” Koffler laughed.
