Mid Valley JUCO Wire… Week 7

Up to date scores and stats from nearby Junior Colleges and the locally produced talent who are making an impact.

 Mt. Sac   45               Riverside 12         (Oct 17, 2009 at Riverside, CA)

 Mt. Sac got some rest during their bye week and came back to blast Riverside.  Bryce McBride (Bishop Amat) let the way with seven carries for 171-yards and a touchdown and also had three returns for 82-yards.  Jesse Canada (Monrovia) caught four for 51-yards and a score and Ahmere Owens (Muir) had one catch for 30-yards and a touchdown.

 On defense, Arness Ikner (Pasadena) had three tackles and two interceptions, Austin Daniels (Muir) had three tackles and one interception and Kiely Rycraw (Charter Oak) and Deshawn Gaisie (Bishop Amat) each had a tackle.

 Citrus 16                     Cerritos 21     (Oct 17, 2009 at Glendora, CA)

 Citrus continued to struggle Saturday with Isaac Tucker (West Covina) getting 22-yards on four carries.  Rauley Zaragosa (Azusa) punted the ball six times for 227 total yards.

 Defensively, Nico Barbone (San Dimas) had seven tackles, Xavier Tucker (West Covina) and Steven Carrera (Covina) each had two and Jesse Prieto (Bishop Amat) had one.

 Noticeably missing from the stats was Brandon Stansell. 

 Fullerton 30                Grossmont 17                         (Oct. 17, 2009 at Fullerton, CA)         

 The local talent continued shine on defense for Fullerton.  Derrick Price (Bonita) and Filipo Tuala (South El Monte) each had three tackles.  Joe Morales and Juan Perez (South El Monte), Alex Valdez and Raul Pintado (Schurr) all had two tackles and David Slover (South Hills) had one.

 Glendale 6                  Canyons 14     (Oct 17, 2009 at Santa Clarita, CA)    

 Not much in the way of numbers for the local guys as Glendale continues to struggle.  Willie Youngblood (Muir) had 29-yards on 14 carries and Reinaldo Reyes (Blair) had one carries for two yards and one reception for 20-yards.

Pasadena 23              Alan Hancock 38           (Oct 17, 2009 at Santa Maria, CA)

Pasadena dropped their third straight even though Reuben Thomas (Muir) did his part.  Thomas added two more touchdowns to his season total (11) on receptions of 25 and 20-yards. Thomas also carried the ball five times for 29-yards, completed one of two passes for 42-yards and had four returns for 81-yards.  Jonathan Troast (South Pasadena) hit on 15 of 27f or 194-yards and a touchdown.

On defense, Williams Do (Temple City) had five tackles and Devin Fuller (Blair), Brian Gonzalez and Josh Giambalvo (Alhambra), Joey Dixon (Blair) and Ruben McQueen (Bonita) each had one tackle.
