Rosemead, Fregoso, Enjoy the View

(Rosemead) – Matt Fregoso scored four touchdowns, all in the third quarter, to lead Rosemead to a 41-7 rout of Mountain View Friday night at Marinelli Field.

  Fregoso scored on runs of 16, 3, 4 and 7 as the Panthers outscored the Vikes 27-0 in the third to put the game away. Fregoso had 26 carries on the night for 175 yards. Rosemead had 237 rushing yards total and 411 overall.

  Matt Macias completed 10 of 14 for 174 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw two picks. Luis Diaz had two catches for 51 yards and Conrado Simpson hauled in four receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown.

  Mt. View surprised the Mead and got on the board first. Bryan Estrada caught a 43 yard touchdown pass from Jason Cordero early in the first quarter. The Panthers came back with a 40 yard strike from Macias to Diaz to even it up.

  Simpson was on the end of a 15 yard scoring toss from Macias in the second quarter for a 14-7 halftime lead. Rosemead then broke it open in the third behind the running of Fregoso. 

  Rosemead’s defense allowed the Vikings less than 100 total yards on the night. The Panthers are now 1-1 in the Mission Valley League with the win and 2-5 overall. Mt. View is 0-2 and 0-7.
