(Pasadena) – Burbank utilized a stellar 12-point first half paint job by Adam Pasco and a strong rebounding edge leading by up to seven on several occasions, before host Pasadena regrouped and took command in the third quarter, outscoring Burbank 18-5 there en route to a 69-52 win Tuesday night in the Pacific League opener for both squads.
Ajon Efferson engineered six assists, blocked a shot, and notched 19 points to lead Pasadena, which got 14 second half points from Tyrek Adams (18 points) and 15 by Rayjon Moore. Defensively, the “Dena Dawgs” were led by Moore, and Nick Brown (9 points, 5 rebounds) as both steered away with five steals.
Mike Woods swatted two blocks and notched 10 points. Anthony Kardosh blocked, rebounded, and broke up the middle on his way to a thunderous bangout late in the second stanza before finishing with eight points, four steals, and seven boards.
Richard Elmoyan also scored eight points, while Adrian Gonzalez, Ellie Hanno, and Cody Bosman each drilled a three to round out Burbank’s scoring tally.
