2. 2012 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Johnny Manziel declares for the NFL draft after two years at Texas A&M.

3. Western Kentucky Coach Bobby Petrino has reportedly accepted an offer to become HC at Louisvile. Petrino was previously the Cardinals head coach from 2003 to 2006.

4. Sierra Vista has started the basketball season 0-10

5. Nogales senior Andrew Bullock is averaging 17 points and 22 rebounds per game. He has 220 rebounds overall.

6. USC tight end Xavier Grimble declares for the NFL draft.

7. Current Monrovia assistant coaches Craig Shuster and Don Davis have been mentioned as possible replacements for Ryan Maddox.

8. Gabrielino led by Bryan Phan (17 points per game) has started the season 12-3.

9. On this date in 1977 the Oakland Raiders beat the Minnesota Vikings 32-14 in Super Bowl XI in Pasadena. Fred Biletnikoff takes home MVP honors.
