2013 Northwest Coach of The Year: Nordhoff’s Tony Henney

We didn't have a very good picture of Tony Henney (all have him hugged or mobbed, or blurred in Gatorade baths), but Jake Boyd (left) and Tanner Workman (right) were key elements to Henney and the Rangers success the last two years.

This was an easy one. Nordhoff won its second consecutive Northwest Division title in December and Tony Henney is the Mid Valley Sports choice for Northwest Coach of the Year.

Since taking over the Rangers program in 2008 Henney has compiled a 58-17 record. The only playoff miss came in his first season, which ended with a 62-8 loss to Oaks Christian. After that Henney’s program has been dominant, including three double digit win seasons in three of the last four years.

No reason to doubt Nordhoff and Henney’s success will be ending any time soon.
