Daniel Al-gattas is the new head coach at Baldwin Park

(Baldwin Park)- Daniel Al-gattas was named the new head coach at Baldwin Park Wednesday former HC James Heggins confirmed. Al-gattas takes over for Chris Williams who stepped down after the 2013 season.

Al-gattas played his high school ball at Walnut and was the quarterback for the 2002 team that appeared in the CIF Finals. Al-gattas was most recently the quarterback coach at Mt. San Antonio College and was the offensive coordinator at Baldwin Park in 2009. He attended Colorado State before transferring to Mt. SAC. After finishing at Mt. SAC he transferred to UCLA.

Al-gattas graduated from UCLA with a degree in Political Science and Business Economics before starting his coaching career at Mt. SAC.

“He’s a great guy and a good coach,” Heggins said.

The Braves went 7-4 overall last year and lost in the first round of the Mid-Valley Division playoffs to Arroyo 56-53.
