Q & A with Monrovia HC Chris Williams

Chris Williams, after a few previous area coaching stops, has been the head football coach at Monrovia for the last two years. He has an overall record of 15-8 and a Rio Hondo League championship. I had the opportunity to have a recent Q & A with him.

It’s April in Baldwin Park

We took a trip out to Baldwin Park to check out the Braves on Saturday. Big numbers, big boys and some big playmakers. HC Daniel Al-gattas talked about everything from the West Coast offense that he’s going to run (New Orleans Saints’ version) to his days at Mt. SAC and UCLA to the excitement surrounding the BP football program.

We got a chance to see Baldwin Park up close and personal Saturday morning. The Braves have over 90 players currently in the program and had nearly that many out on Saturday for spring practice.

Al-gattas Announced at Baldwin Park

(Baldwin Park)- Daniel Al-gattas was named the new head coach at Baldwin Park Wednesday former HC James Heggins confirmed. Al-gattas takes over for Chris Williams who stepped down after the 2013 season.

  Citrus 36 Grossmont 22 The Owls started 3-0 for the first time since the mid seventies by knocking off Grossmont. Andre Holmes rushed for two first half touchdowns while Vincent Hernandez aired a pair of scores in the fourth quarter to deliver 20th-ranked Citrus a big 36-22 victory.
