Kick it!

The mismatch is common in history…David versus Goliath, Rome versus Spartacus, The Monkees versus The Beatles, Bob Dole versus Bill Clinton in 1996…but the biggest mismatch in history might be the NBA Finals trying to compete with the NHL Stanley Cup Finals.

I’d sooner spend an evening with an Amway salesman then watch Miami and San Antonio. But with that said, go Spurs!

Question: Do you expect Charter Oak to run away with Hacienda League title in 2014?
If so be sure you give some consideration to Los Altos. The Conquerors have nearly all of their key defenders back and they have some bad dudes in the trenches in David Tolmachoff, David Jimenez, and Steven Magallanes. They also have linebackers and talent int he secondary.

The Chargers will contend, but looking at the current poll on our website quite a few think they’re going to runaway with the league title…And that might be premature.

Someone said “KISS tryout” and Peterson showed up at Whittier College in full make up.

Reminder: “The Mid Valley Sports Show” will not air tonight due to a mandatory MVS staff/business meeting at Sharkey’s Bistro in Burbank.

Reminder Two: Plenty of staff positions available, it only requires a pulled pork buy in.

I know, I know, don’t waste a comment on it, a title in the Claremont Passing Tournament does not a CIF champion make…but there’s no denying the building momentum at Crescenta Valley.

Still pro Burbank given the return of James “The Body Electric” Williams and Ryan Meredith, but that CV Falcon train is something you might want to jump on now while the jumping is good.

Love seeing the Twitter pics of Dodgers Dee Gordon and Drew Butera visiting kids at Childrens Hospital…Awesome.

If you’ve got nothing to do on September 13th, and about 12 hours to kill, why not drive the 686 miles to see APU play at Humboldt State? It’s a great stadium…scenic drive…and a chance to see La Mirada brothers Gerry & James Myres as well as Muir’s Marcus Graves play for the Jacks.

I’ve made the trip, its a good trip, but wouldn’t it be better if someone the old programs at Long Beach and Fullerton were revived to play at the D-2 level? Wouldn’t that be an exciting thing for SoCal football?

Last Add APU: I would really love to see outside linebacker Matthew Hackett (junior-to-be) get some more playing time in 2014.

Pretty good player no one knows about? Try South Pasadena junior-to-be fullback Alton Phillips (6-0,210). Nothing wrong playing for the Tigers, bummer is he’s never going to get a chance to shine playing in the central division the next two years.

Note to Norm Dahlia: Forget the Melquise Stovall stuff, my question is you listed 36 players on your Paraclete roster in 2013 and according to MaxPreps 27 of them were seniors. That’s a lot of bodies to replace. How do you get it done?

Somebody want to tell me about Justin Torres at Sierra Vista? His stats show him rushing for over 1,700 yards last year…but to be polite sometimes, just sometimes, the SV stats do come across as a little awkward.

I do know about Azusa’s Dominic Ramirez, the 5-8, 150-pound wide receiver/cornerback can play ball. He’ll be a junior this fall.

In regards to the Apocalypse: Six Flags Magic Mountain is closing Colossus in August.
In regards to Nogales: The Nobles still do not have a head coach.
In regards to Dan Marino: Hall of Fame quarterback removes himself from concussion plaintiff list against the NFL.
In regards to Windward: I wish them the best, but no, I was on that bandwagon last year when it went over the cliff.
In regards to North Dallas Forty: When are the going to do a remake?
