(Temple City)- The Temple City Rams (5-3-1, 3-1) came out victorious over South Pasadena Tigers (2-7, 1-3) in Friday nights Rio Hondo league bout.

After the game Temple City head coach Anthony White said about the upcoming schedule “We’ve got to handle our business.”

Well the Rams did exactly that against the Tigers.

Temple City on the seventh play of its first drive TC scored on a Justin Smith 50 yard bomb to David Spratt, the first of Spratt’s three touchdowns.

The Rams never looked back, scoring two more times in the half. One on another Smith to Spratt connection, this one for 38 yard touchdown, the other came on defense when Tim Sanderson intercepted the Tiger’s Connor Bednarski pass and returned it to pay dirt.

South Pas was never able to get the ball moving and the score at the break was Rams 21, Tigers nothing.

Coming out of the intermission TC received the ball, and on its ensuing drive Smith got shaken up and was taken out of the game to be immediately replaced by Brandon Cox.

With Mad Max Ruckle already out of the game with an ankle injury the Rams were without two of their top players and in the hands of its young playmakers.

Cox was able to continue the drive Smith started flanked in the backfield by Andrew “Turtle” Gibson. Together they marched Temple City downfield with Cox capping off the drive with a 15 yard dash up the middle behind the blocking of Gibson.

After another SP three and out, Spratt scored his third touchdown on a 55-yard punt return.

South Pasadena was able to score twice late in the game on two Connor Bednarski touchdown passes to Howard Serrian, but it was much too late for any chance at the game.
