The Devil….Reformed

Test…Test….Is this on?

Rest In Peace, On the Couch, Devil Made Me Do it, and what other columns spawned during my time here.

Needless to say. Those that are close to me know the events of the last two years has led me to enlightenment.

Currently on a tour of Texas following the Barclay’s Premiership Aston Villa Football Club, the people watching here is completely awesome.

If the crowd at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Tx. is any indication of whether the United States has embraced soccer in the States they haven’t shown it. This is a club that states they average 11,000 fans per game. On Wednesday, it looked like I was watching a L.A. KISS game on television with maybe 5,000 at the game. In the end, the MLS club has proven that the EPL is still head and shoulders above the rest.

Now on to Houston for the next part of the Aston Villa Texas Tour.

Best quote found on Facebook after the demolition of the Los Angeles Galaxy by Manchester United on Wednesday night at the Rose Bowl from former USC SID Jason Pommier. “Congrats to my Galaxy friends who spent money to watch that game tonight.”

I felt cheated watching it on television in the hotel room. That was just plain awful. Of course, Bonita Alum feels that the MLS is growing in stature. Note to Bonita Alum, the MLS is considered the 49th best league in the world.

By now you are screaming. “let the bad man stop.” almost finished, trust me.

Dallas sports radio talk is all about the Dallas Cowboys. They all also believe that the Cowboys are a Super Bowl team. Did I miss something? Did they actually get a quarterback?

Of course, I am sure that Oakland is thinking the same thoughts.

If any team should be watched is San Diego. If they manage to avoid their usual September swoon and fall behind all other AFC teams, they could be the sleeper in the conference. Denver is getting long in the tooth. Kansas City should still be there provided Andy Reid does have some personal family emergency. Oakland is Oakland. They will find another way to go 3-13.

Heading for the car, driving down to Houston. Busy weekend, Houston Astros tonight, Aston Villa tomorrow and then driving back to Dallas Sunday for the Texas Rangers. Busy fun sports weekend prior to the start of Zero Week.
