2.  Barclay’s English Premier League begins its season on Saturday, August 16th

4. Twenty years ago today, MLB players went on strike. It lasted 232 days and resulted in the cancellation of the World Series for the first time in 90 years

5.  In their first varsity season back, St. Bernard went 5-5, but never lost a game by single digits

6. Jacob LaRue returns for his senior season at Verbum Dei, last year he rushed for 2,068 yards and 24 touchdowns
